The pendant weight is 18 grams .925 silver & about the size of a silver dollar. (See a comparison in the gallery.) It comes on a suede leather cord with a sterling hook and eye clasp. They are cast with the 92.5 sterling mark and the copyright date.
We found our original bronze, Sons of Liberty medallion, while fishing an Adirondack mountain trout stream in the 1960's. Several Revolutionary War battles were fought in or around the Adirondacks.
We copyrighted our medallions in the Bi-Centennial year, 1976 and began casting them in Philadelphia's Historic District, 2 blocks from Independence Hall.
The Sons of Liberty was founded in 1765, and organized the militias against the British Army. The Daughters of Liberty (medallion also available) was founded in 1766, and led the successful fight to repeal the Stamp Act with its onerous taxes on tea and other commodities and led to the Boston Tea Party.
