The pendant/medallion is the size of a silver dollar and weighs approx. 18 grams (.635 oz) . It is attached to suede leather cord with a sterling clasp. (Please specify length.) Red or blue ribbon is available also (please specify). They are cast with the 92.5 sterling mark and the copyright date.
We found our original bronze Sons of Liberty medallion while fishing on an Adirondack mountain trout stream in the 1960's. Several Revolutionary War battles were fought in or around the Adirondacks.
The Sons of Liberty was established in 1765, and organized the militias against the British Army. The Daughters of Liberty was founded in 1766, and led the successful fight to repeal the Stamp Act with its onerous taxes on tea and other commodities. They popularized the consumption of coffee and herbal teas and their activities led to the Boston Tea Party.
We copyrighted our medallions in the Bi-Centennial year, 1976 and began casting them in Philadelphia's Historic District, 2 blocks from Independence Hall.
